The NBA playoffs standings for 2014 has the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs into the NBA finals and things start for Game 1 on Thursday on ABC at 9 pm and has LeBron James looking for his third straight championship while Tim Duncan is looking to win his fifth and this comes after Miami won the championship last year after some dramatics from Ray Allen and company.

Miami comes into the series after winning over the Indiana Pacers in the east finals for the second straight season and they did that in six games, while the Spurs come in after beating the Oklahoma City Thunder and that also was in six games and was a tough series on both sides. The two teams are the best in each conference and everyone around the league was hoping for a rematch after how close things came for the Spurs last season. Allen his last second three that came after it looked like it was impossible for the Heat to win, but they hung around and ended up taking the championship.

Game 1 of the series is on Thursday and then Game 2 will be on Sunday night at 8 pm and that matchup will also be at the AT&T Center before shifting to Miami. Game 3 is on Tuesday at American Airlines Arena in South Florida and this year the series format is 2-2-1-1-1 after being 2-3-2 last season and that could have an effect on how the series plays out. Game 4 is on Thursday night at 9 pm and then the series goes back to Texas for Game 5 if necessary and that is at 8 pm on ABC. Game 6 is back in Miami and will be on Tuesday, June 17.

James led his team in scoring, assists and rebounds against the Pacers and he had 25 points and six dimes against Indiana in the last game and now he is looking for his third straight championship and his third finals MVP. James and Duncan have gone back and forth in the media to start the series and James said that Miami is just as pleased about playing the Spurs as San Antonio is about the Heat and the two stars should make this a very tough battle.

Both teams are deep and the Spurs come in with a chip on their shoulder, as they have been thinking about this moment since losing last year. James is looking to carve out a dynasty in South Florida and this would be icing on the cake for the team and would put James in legendary status with three titles in a row.
