Kevin Love Trade Rumors: Golden State Warriors Favored with Stephen Curry, David Lee Pairing Over James Harden, Dwight Howard as Timberwolves Control Future

Kevin Love could have all the say in his future or he could not have any. The forward has reportedly made it known that he has no intentions of hanging around Minnesota when his contract is up in 2015. That has made him extremely susceptible to trades this offseason. The Timberwolves could have complete say over his next team and Love has a few preferences.

Every team will be lining up if Love is truly made available this summer. The Timberwolves will be wanting a draft pick and an impact player in return, limiting the number of teams that can truly make a run at the forward. The Houston Rockets have reportedly made a trade for Love a priority, prepared to offer up a deal including Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik. However, Love would prefer to get dealt to the Golden State Warriors if possible.

According to Bleacher Report's NBA Insider Rich Bucher, Love prefers the Warriors due to their supporting cast. The forward would be highly successful running the pick and roll with Stephen Curry while Andrew Bogut would help his defense. They also have another strong scorer in Klay Thompson. Bucher also notes they are a west coast team, something Love prefers.

The issue could be what Golden State would have to give up for Love.  The team could be forced to give up players like David Lee and Andre Iguodala. The Houston Chronicle is reporting that Thompson is unavailable for deals, making those two players the best options to get a player like Love. That could hurt the Warriors in the long run.

Love might like Golden State, but he would fit well in the Houston system as well. James Harden is perfectly capable of the pick and roll while Dwight Howard is the defensive presence.   The Rockets would give up Asik and Lin and possibly Terrance Jones, but get the multi-dimensional Love to make up for it.

Love wants to go to a championship contending team and that would be either the Warriors or the Rockets if he joins. Both teams are set up well for the future and just need someone like the forward to complete their roster lineup. However, the real truth is that Love will not get a say in where he goes if Minnesota trades him. He very well could end up on a team like the Charlotte Bobcats or the New Orleans Pelicans fighting once again.
