Since the start of 2012, the Toronto Blue Jays have swept the Boston Red Sox twice at Fenway and they look to make it a third thanks to their opponents diminishing record. The Blue Jays are benefiting from a batting surge from Edwin Encarnacion and that could get Toronto their third sweep against the American League rivals.

Encarnacion is hitting and hitting well. He has homered seven times in his last six games. He was crucial in Wednesday's 6-4 win as he is the first player to record four two-homer games in a single month since Troy Tulowitzki did so in September of 2010. Encarnacion also likes hitting against Red Sox pitchers. He has driven in 14 runs in his last 13 games against Boston while also posting 10 extra-base hits. Against John Lester, he is 8 for 39 with two home runs.

Outside of Encarnacion's bat, the Blue Jays are hoping for a big game from pitcher Mark Buehrle who is 7-1 with a 2.11 ERA on the season. His one loss comes at the hands of Boston. Buehrle has the chance to get a league-leading eighth win which could possibly tie him with Los Angeles' Zack Greinke. The pitcher likes hitting the road so facing the Red Sox at Fenway might work in his favor. He is 4-0 with a 1.25 ERA in five road starts. However, his worst game came against Boston where he gave up six runs on 12 hits.

Boston is in a six-game slide, getting just 14 runs in the process. While the bats are not moving, the starting pitching is struggling as well. The team has a 6.68 ERA while starters have failed to go more than six innings. Lester will try and change that. He has the best performance of anyone after allowing just one run and four hits against Detroit. He did give up four runs over seven innings against Toronto in late April, but was 4-0 with a 2.55 ERA against the team last year.
