Cleveland Cavaliers Draft Rumors: Johnny Manziel Requests Andrew Wiggins No. 1 Overall, Joel Embiid Favored if Tristan Thompson, Anderson Varejao Traded

The Cleveland Cavaliers are once again the winners of the No. 1 overall draft pick. In a draft considered deeper than most, they are now tasked with figuring out exactly how to use it as the franchise is on the brink of either succeeding or being forced to rebuild once again. This is the team's third top pick in four years and a certain other Cleveland star has a suggestion of how the Cavaliers should use it.

Johnny Manziel is Cleveland's biggest star since LeBron James was drafted to the Cavaliers. He has the local and national media in the palm of his hands which could mean he has some pull. After it was announced that the Cavaliers had earned the top pick, Manziel quickly tweeted out, "Cavs and @22wiggins?" The quarterback was referring to Andrew Wiggins, one of the projected top picks in this year's draft class. Wiggins and Manziel have a history together, mainly through their mutual friendship with rapper Drake. He recently shouted out both athletes on his "Draft Day" single. Having both OVO athletes in the same season likely has Drake foaming at the mouth as well as hip hop fans everywhere.

At the beginning of the college basketball season, it seemed like Wiggins was a near lock to be taken No. 1 overall, but after an up and down freshman campaign with Kansas, it is not guarantee anymore. According to Jeff Goodman of ESPN.com, the Cavaliers might actually be favoring Joel Embiid at the top of the draft board instead of Wiggins or even Jabari Parker.

The Cavaliers are likely losing Luol Deng while potentially trading away Tristan Thompson or Anderson Varejao. The need for a skilled center who can score in the post while still taking the outside shot is big for the Cavaliers. Embiid is a very effective two-way player who can rebound and block while still getting the altered shots. As the Cavaliers work to get Kyrie Irving under a max contract extension, pairing him with Embiid could be what Cleveland needs to succeed.

There are still red flags with Embiid that could make Wiggins the favorable option. He left college with back issues that have plenty of teams worried. Embiid will likely undergo several physicals before the draft that could really play a large factor in his value.

Manziel and Wiggins would certainly bring a lot of attention to Cleveland, something the city would love. However, the Cavaliers are more concerned with getting a winning team together than pleasing the supposed backup quarterback for the Browns.
