The NY Rangers and the Montreal Canadiens are playing on the NHL playoffs schedule and Game 1 of the eastern conference finals series comes from the Bell Centre and the matchup starts up at 1 pm ET on NBC on TV and will be streaming from the Sports Network Live Extra website and comes after the teams won against the Penguins and Bruins in the second round and now Henrik Lundqvist and Carey Price will face off.

The Rangers come into the series after upsetting the Penguins and that was a very tough comeback for NY, as they had to rally from a 3-1 series deficit and that was something that no Rangers team had ever done before. Chris Kreider had one of the biggest goals in the series for the team, as he was the one to snap the super long power play streak and that gave the team enough momentum to push ahead and win. Brian Boyle scored a huge goal in the final game and Martin St. Louis came through in Game 6 after his mother died to help force the final matchup with the Penguins.

The Rangers were able to hold back Sidney Crosby in the Penguins series and they will have to do the same with Max Pacioretty, Dale Weise and Daniel Briere as well as P.K. Subban, who have all played well for Montreal in the playoffs. Subban was the leading scorer for the team and he also had the winning goal in Game 1 of that series and now he will be one of the main players the Rangers need to watch out for. The Rangers did not allow Crosby to take over and he had only one goal in the series and now NY will come in with high emotion, as the team has rallied around St. Louis after the death of his mother.

St. Louis helped bring the team together and scored the first goal of Game 6 and now the team plans on attending the funeral for his mother on Sunday and that comes after Game 1 of the series in Montreal. The family is from Montreal and that adds another wrinkle to the entire playoffs for St. Louis, who will be playing in his home town city and this all comes 20 years after the Rangers' magical run to the Stanley Cup and with that win in mind, who not do it again two decades later.

The Rangers power play finally kicked into gear in the second half of the series and now they come in with one of the best penalty killing units in the league and they will need that against Montreal in the series. The Rangers have been very adept at blocking shots and that was one reason they defeated the Penguins and now they have the chance to advance again with a win over Montreal and for the second straight series they will have to be the road team. Henrik Lundqvist was amazing in Game 7 and now he has won five in a row and is 5-1 in those games with the Rangers and that is a record and he will need to continue playing that well for the Rangers to win and he has a solid counterpart in Price, who has been lights out in the playoffs as well and also won a Game 7 against the number one seed in the Bruins.
