The NBA playoffs standings for 2014 has the LA Clippers leading the Oklahoma City Thunder 1-0 in their second round series after a win in Game 1 on Monday and now Game 2 picks up on the Wednesdays schedule and the series could be 2-0 for Los Angeles or a 1-1 split for OKC and the MVP in Kevin Durant.
The Clippers had a great game from Chris Paul, who hit eight threes and he ended up with 32 points to lead LA, while Russell Westbrook had 29 points and was very pouty late in the game. Westbrook could be seen walking away from the Thunder huddle during the game and his behavior cannot be overlooked in this series, as Kevin Durant is about to be named MVP and he truly needs to be the number one shot taker for OKC.
Westbrook is a great player, but he shoots too much and he showed in Game 1 that he can be rattled and that could come into play on Wednesday night. Paul added 10 assists in the game and even with the Thunder outscoring the Clips by nine in the fourth, it wasn't enough and now they must regroup after losing just seven games at home during the regular season.
The Indiana Pacers continued their slide and they lost to the Washington Wizards in Game 1 and now they are down 1-0 in the series for the second straight time after playing the Hawks. The Wizards can play big and they can play small and that has been an issue for the Pacers, who seemingly have no answer for Marcin Gortat and Nene. Roy Hibbert was invisible and he had zero points and rebounds in the game and that has been a major issue for the team.
Bradley Beal had 25 points for the Wizards, while Paul George and George Hill led the way with 18 each for the Pacers. The Wizards now have the chance to go up 2-0 and that game will be on Wednesday in Indy and starts up at 7 pm ET on TNT. The Game 2 matchup between the Clippers and Thunder will be the second game of the doubleheader that night. Gortat had 15 rebounds and John Wall added nine assists and now the Wizards are looking like the favorites to come out of the series.
The Brooklyn Nets and Miami heat play Game 1 on Tuesday night and that matchup could be a great one, as the Nets went 4-0 on the Heat during the regular season.
