Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic (L) challenges Liverpool's Luis Suarez during their English Premier League soccer match at Anfield in Liverpool, northern England April 27, 2014. "

Liverpool plays Crystal Palace on Monday on the English Premier League schedule and the matchup for the Reds is a big one, as they can take sole possession of first on the EPL table for a moment over Manchester City and if they can score some goals, the differential may be enough to get the team the title and they can eliminate Chelsea with a win and it starts up at 3 pm ET from the NBC Sports Network Live Extra website.

Luis Suarez is coming into the match after winning another annual award and it comes after he took the Golden Boot as the top scorer in the EPL this season. Suarez has been playing very well all year and he is one reason why the team is right in the mix for the championship this season. Before last week it looked as if Liverpool was unstoppable, needing just seven points over their final three games to get the title, but Jose Mourinho and his Chelsea team put a stop to that and while the Reds are right there with two games to go, they are no longer the favorites.

Chelsea won at Anfield last weekend and that score of 2-0 came after the Blues lost to Sunderland at home and while that kept them alive for the moment and took Liverpool out of action for the week, they lost at Stamford Bridge soon after that in the Champions League and then suffered a scoreless draw against Norwich City and now they are not in the mix. Chelsea is not close on goals and they are now a point back of both Man City and Liverpool and with Man City having a match in hand, the Blues really have no chance and a win from Liverpool would make it official. The team has one match left against Cardiff City and that comes away next weekend.

Championship Sunday is coming and while Liverpool still has a chance, they need to score in bunches to get the differential better since they are tied in goals with Man City at 96 and they have allowed less and that means against CP and Newcastle they will have to put on a barrage. Suarez can help with that and they will need a little luck from the other teams on the schedule as well. Liverpool had not lost in 11 matches when they fell to Chelsea and now they have to take care of business over the final two weeks.

Liverpool comes into the day in second place for the moment behind Man City due to the goals and they each have 80 points, while Chelsea has 79. Arsenal clinched their spot for the Champions League for the 17th straight season and that streak continues as they pushed back Everton and Tottenham towards the end of the year and now Manchester United is on the outside looking in and another one of their records has fallen after losing against Sunderland this weekend and that allowed them to escape relegation.

The six goal differential will be hard to overcome and if Man City wins out, it won't matter anyway since they have the match in hand and that will be interesting to see how things play out going into Championship Sunday.
