Jadeveon Clowney is more in-demand than Johnny Manziel these days. With under two weeks until the NFL Draft, Clowney's stock has skyrocketed as many mock drafts believe he is the undisputed No. 1 overall pick over any quarterback. As teams bring in the defensive end, many realize they will have to trade up and get him, possibly giving up a lot for one player. The Atlanta Falcons believe they are the ones to make the deal.

Atlanta hosted Clowney for a pre-draft visit and also plan on talking with him again when they drive up to the South Carolina campus to scout a few other prospects. Clowney had announced that he would no longer be working out during pre-draft visits after one player suffered an ACL tear while running drills for a team. However, the Falcons were able to get a small workout from the defensive end, proving they are more serious than ever about getting the future star.

CBSSports.com NFL insider Jason La Canfora is reporting that the Falcons are emerging as the best trade partner for the Houston Texans. With the No. 1 overall pick, the Texans are toying with drafting Clowney, but could also opt to move down in hopes of acquiring more picks. The Falcons are hoping to jump up. If the Texans keep the pick and draft Manziel, the Falcons plan on calling the St. Louis Rams about a deal. If the Texans opt not to trade the pick and draft Clowney, the Falcons could still engage in a trade, much like the New York Giants did to get quarterback Eli Manning.

Clowney is a fan of Atlanta. During one visit the defensive end said that he would love for Atlanta to make a big move for him, much like the team did to get wide receiver Julio Jones. General manager Thomas Dimitroff has made the defensive line a priority this offseason. He believes the Falcons were simply not tough enough last year. Clowney is considered an immediate starter and could impact the defensive unit right away. His skillset meets every need Atlanta has right now and the team is looking to make a big move for him rather than grabbing someone like Khalil Mack or Anthony Barr.
