The Miami Dolphins are still trying to round out their wide receiving corps before the upcoming NFL Draft where they very well could take someone at the position in the first round. The team is attempting to load up on offensive weapons in order to help the progress of Ryan Tannehill's development. The run game appears to be stable for the moment with Knowshon Moreno on board, but what about another down-field threat or tight end to put into the offensive mix?

According to the Miami Herald, the Dolphins are still considering signing a free agent tight end before drafting a wide receiver in May. There are not very many options available to the team, making Dustin Keller and Jermichael Finley their best options. The Herald reports that Keller has emerged as a favorable target despite missing all of last season to a brutal knee injury. Keller's agent Eugene Parker is reporting that his client has completed all of his rehab and is fully ready for on-field contact. This makes him a favorable signing immediately.

Keller is not going to have much of a choice when it comes to contracts. The tight end will be forced to take a much smaller deal than he likely wants simply because he is coming off of injury. Keller could accept a one year deal and simply re-sign with the Dolphins if he is in fact fully healthy.

The Dolphins have been eyeing Finley as their favorite target, but the tight end has yet to be medically cleared which is deferring a lot of interest in him. Finley might be the more talented and versatile of the two players, but Keller has the edge considering his slight familiarity with the Miami offense and the fact that he was healthy first.

Numerous teams could be trying to jump on Keller in the coming days. He is turning 30 before the upcoming season, but plenty of teams are still looking for a tight end to put on the roster. Keller has a strong history of production prior to getting injured which will speak volumes for him once officially cleared to play. The New York Giants and New England Patriots are still looking for a player to catch passes in the middle of the field.

Tannehill is stressing that he has been working on his throwing accuracy in the offseason. The Dolphins are looking to load up on offensive weapons for him to work with now. Mike Wallace stresses he has improved. Charles Clay is coming off a strong season and a rookie will be added into the mix as well.
