The Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues are getting ready for Game 3 of their western conference playoffs series and the matchup comes from the United Center and the home team and defending Stanley Cup champs are down 2-0 in the series after the OT loss in the second game and now they must pull together and the game starts up at 8:30 pm ET and is streaming from the NBC Sports Live Extra website.

The Blues have won both games in overtime and that first matchup was a triple overtime thriller and that saw Alexander Steen end things for the Blues on Corey Crawford and the last game went into overtime as well and Vladimir Tarasenko was able to get that done when he scored the game tying goal and that set up Barret Jackman for the winner.. The hit on David Backes by Brent Seabrook could be the turning point in the series, as it set up those scores and it also will keep the best defenseman for the Hawks on the sidelines for the next three games and that could mean he doesn't play again this postseason.

The Blackhawks are coming into the game as Stanley Cup champions from last year and now they have a 2-0 hole to try and pull out of as they try to repeat. Seabrook looked like he was targeting on the hit and either way he got the head and now the teams will likely have some bad blood with each other and the Blackhawks always play with intensity at their home arena and that could be enough to give the team the lead. Seabrook's hit led to a five-minute major and game misconduct penalty and that allowed the Blues to get things going and now the will try and go for a three games in a row to put the series away.

The Blues have suffered some tough playoffs defeats over the years and last season they lost to the Kings and now they have the chance to put the Blackhawks down with no margin for error. The team got goals from Seabrook and Duncan Keith and the Blackhawks will need players like Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews and Patrick Sharp to step up. Ryan Miller has been brilliant in net for the Blues since he was traded and he ended up with 25 saves in the last game while Crawford had 27 saves in the matchup.

The Blackhawks are looking to win their third Cup in this stretch and they are facing one of their toughest tests now. The Blues and Hawks battled in the central all season and they were ranked as some of the best scoring and defensive teams and now they will play on Monday at the United Center.
