Apr 07, 2014 01:26 PM EDT

The New York Yankees are playing the Baltimore Orioles live on Monday from Yankee Stadium as Derek Jeter makes his final home opener start and the matchup is streaming from the radio online from MLB.com and the AL East matchup starts at 1:05 pm from the Bronx.

The Yankees are coming into the game after a win in the series finale against the Blue Jays in Toronto and now they finally return to the Bronx after starting down in Texas against the Houston Astros. The team went 1-2 in that series and they won two of three against the Jays and one of those was on Sunday and that saw CC Sabathia get the win despite giving up some runs later on in the game and now the team is hoping Hiroki Kuroda can get his first win of the season as well.

The lineup has Derek Jeeetah in second and he will be making his final Opening home game start for the Yanks on Monday and that makes it a very anticipated game for many people and he will be looking to play well, as he just passed another player on the all-time hit list over the weekend and he will be setting many more marks by the time the season is over.

The Yankees come into the season with some very high expectations and this comes after they signed Masahiro Tanaka, Jacoby Ellsbury, Carlos Beltran and Brian McCann in the offseason and the team is hoping all of those players can perform well this year. Tanaka got his first win with the Yankees against the Blue Jays and the other players are waiting for their breakout games and the team is hoping that they come on this home stand, which goes into the weekend.

The Yankees will have Ivan Nova next in the rotation with Tanaka and they also have Michael Pineda looking strong and now they are hoping that the five main pitchers can stay healthy this season. Last year injuries played a major factor for the Yankees and they have already come up, as Mark Teixeira is now on the DL with a hamstring issue and this comes after he missed over 140 games last season after getting wrist surgery. Luckily he did not hurt his wrist, but being out the lineup is tough for the Yankees infield, as Kelly Johnson now shifts over and the two rookies take over at 3B.

Brett Gardner is leading off for the team and Jeter is batting second in his final home opener and the next three are new names in Ellsbury, Beltran and McCann and they will be expected to bring some offense to the lineup on Monday. Alfonso Soriano is next ahead of Brian Roberts and Kelly Johnson, while the rookie Yangervis Solarte is playing at third base now and will be relied on until the infield can shift back.
