NBA Standings 2014: Playoffs Has Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers Tied For First Place In Eastern Conference, Spurs Best In West With 19-Game Win Streak

The NBA standings for 2014 have been shaken up a bit in the eastern conference, as the Miami Heat and the Indiana Pacers are tied heading towards the playoffs and now home court advantage is up in the air and that gives Miami a huge advantage heading into the final weeks of the season, while the San Antonio Spurs have clinched their playoff spot and are best in the west after going on a 19-game win streak.

The Miami Heat have been chasing the Indiana Pacers all season in the east and now that Indy has slumped, the team is tried in the standings with Miami for first in the conference and right now LeBron James and company have a game in hand. The team comes in on a four game winning streak and they are 7-3 over their last 10, while the Pacers are just 4-6 and they have slumped this month so far. The two teams have clinched their divisions, but now the seeding is the most important part of it and that could help decide the championship.

Last season many thought that the Pacers would have won the eastern conference finals against the Heat had the series finished in Indy and this season they have been playing like that was a true fact. The team had been in first nearly all season and now Miami has closed in and if they get the number one seed, that could be devastating for the Pacers. The team has been having everyone say all season how much better they are than Miami and about how they are the only ones that can beat the Heat, but they haven't had to deal with that pressure in the past and now things appear to be boiling over, as Paul George has become a ball hog that can't score, Lance Stephenson and George Hill are fighting and Roy Hibbert is calling out players as "selfish".

Everyone keeps waiting for the Miami Heat train to come off the tracks, but they have been here before and they understand that things are a marathon and not a sprint. Miami had slumped a bit this season, but that was more about being tired after making three straight runs to the finals the past three years. The team now is getting hot at the right time and they could end up being the team with the most momentum in the playoffs if they can get that number one seed.
