Chicago Cubs vs. Pittsburgh Pirates Live Stream: Watch Online Streaming MLB Baseball Game

Apr 02, 2014 06:51 PM EDT

The Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates are playing on the MLB schedule on Wednesday and the game comes live at 7:05 pm ET and streaming online from the MLB.com website at PNC Park and has Pitt looking to win their second game in a row after taking the opener, while the Cubbies are trying to get their first victory of the season with Edwin Jackson facing off against Charlie Morton.

The Pirates are trying to sustain the success they had last season when they made the playoffs for the first time in two decades and now they get the chance to try and win against the Cubs again after Jeff Samardzija and Francisco Liriano started things off for the two teams on Monday. The Cubs had a very tough season last year and they are trying to just marginally improve, while the Pirates will be looking to take down the Cardinals and the Reds in the central division. The NL MVP Andrew McCutchen is looking to have another strong season and he ended up with a hit and a walk in the first game, which was won by the Pirates in dramatic fashion, winning 1-0 in extra innings.

The two starters began the game with some strong pitching and as the game went on both teams had their chances and Neil Walker was the one who ended it with a home run to end the scoreless tie in the 10th inning. The Pirates are hoping for more magic after what happened last season and now they face off against Jackson, who lost 18 games last season and had a near 5.00 ERA for the Cubs and he comes in after leading the majors in losses. McCutchen comes in having hit well against Jackson in the past and the Pirates are hoping for more of that, while Morton has the chance to get back on the mound after dealing with some injuries last season and towards the end of the year he went 4-1 with a 2.67 ERA during his 11 starts and that led to a three-year, $21 million contract this offseason.

The Cubs did not have a hit in 11 tries on Monday with runners in scoring position and young stars in Starlin Castro, Anthony Rizzo and Mike Olt did not get things done, as they went a combined 0 for 10 and had five strikeouts in the game and now the team is hoping that they will rebound for their first runs and win of the season. Samardzija started on Opening Day for the Cubs and he is their best chance for an ace in the rotation and he could get traded this season after not signing a contract extension in the offseason.
