Washington Redskins Rumors: DeAngelo Hall Pushes DeSean Jackson Signing, Dan Snyder Seeks Robert Griffin III Help WR Target Despite Gang Connections

The Washington Redskins earned the first visit with wide receiver DeSean Jackson. After being released by the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday, Jackson instantly became the best free agent available after leading the Philadelphia offense over the past few seasons. Several teams have appeared as contenders to sign Jackson, but with a few player endorsements could the Redskins get him under contract within the next 24 hours?

It is unclear just how serious the Redskins are about signing Jackson. The team has brought him in for a visit simply because they need a wide receiver and he is the best available heading into the draft. Dan Snyder is always looking to make marquee moves for the team and this would certainly fit the description. However, contract demands will play more into the Jackson signing over what the receiver can offer on the field.

Mark Maske of the Washington Post is reporting that while the Redskins are very interested in Jackson, they may only be willing to sign him for cheap. Jackson's drama with the Philadelphia Eagles all started because he was demanding more money than his already large contract was giving him. The wide receiver is not aiming to sign a simple one year deal for small change in order to play in 2014. He wants to get paid like the top receiver he is despite his off-the-field concerns.

One person hoping the Redskins make a move on Jackson is DeAngelo Hall. The cornerback publically endorsed the wide receiver while talking to CSNWashington.com. He is convinced that Jackson would take the Redskins' offense to another level.

"If we could add a piece like that ... he's a threat whenever the ball is in [his] hands," Hall said, via CSNWashington.com. "I feel like our locker room has a good group of young guys, a good group of old guys, man. Some of the things [Jackson] has been going through lately, that's life. That's life. We've all been through something, so ... if he's able to come here, man, I'm going to take him under my wing and just try to put him on the right path."

The Redskins could set the market for Jackson. The Oakland Raiders and Buffalo Bills are also interested in signing the wide receiver but at the right price. Depending on what happens with the Washington visit, a bidding war could start for Jackson no matter what the reason was for his release.
