Philadelphia Eagles Rumors: DeSean Jackson Trade Makes Odell Beckham Jr, Marqise Lee NFL Draft Targets, Mike Evans, Sammy Watkins Not Options as No. 22

As DeSean Jackson's future remains up in the air, the Philadelphia Eagles could be making a backup plan should the wide receiver be traded sometime before next season. With most of the free agent talent already wrapped up, the Eagles would have to look towards the NFL Draft for options at a new leading wide receiver.

According to Charles Davis of NFL.com, the Eagles are reportedly very impressed with former LSU wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. who turned some heads at the NFL Scouting Combine. Beckham put up a 4.43 40-yard dash at the combine. Pair that with his size and ability to gain a lot of yards after the catch, Beckham could be first-round talent along with Mike Evans and Sammy Watkins. Beckham did win the Paul Hornung Award last year as college football's most versatile player, making him the target of almost every NFL team in need of a wide receiver.

Nothing is set in stone for the Eagles and Jackson. There is a lot of "he said, she said" happening in regards to the recent trade reports. Philadelphia will likely not outright release Jackson, but plenty of teams have shown interest in the wide receiver, calling about his price tag. The Cleveland Browns, Carolina Panthers, San Francisco 49ers and New York Jets have all had their names tossed around in the rumors. If Jackson is available, a deal will be made.

If Jackson goes, the Eagles must draft a wider receiver. The leading wide receiver will be hard to replace. He remains one of the most versatile performers for the Eagles and a constant threat for big plays. Philadelphia has already invested in Riley Cooper and Jeremy Maclin for next season and beyond, but those two will not be enough offensive fire power without Jackson. However, Beckham would be a strong replacement. Last season, Beckham put up 1,152 yards and eight touchdowns for the LSU Tigers, while also spending time as their primary kickoff and punt returner.

The Eagles do not draft until No. 22 which could leave them out of the running for both Mike Evans and Sammy Watkins. However, Beckham will still be on the board, as will players like Marqise Lee and Kelvin Benjamin. All three receivers could be clutch for Eagles next season.
