Miami Dolphins Rumors: Mike Wallace Trade Priority, Oakland Raiders Interested After Matt Schaub Deal as Jacksonville Jaguars Seek Justin Blackmon Replacement

A high salary and low stats normally do not work well for a football player's future. Mike Wallace is starting to find out just how true that is. Just one year ago, the wide receiver signed free agency's biggest contract after earning a five-year, $60 million contract with the Miami Dolphins. He failed to repay the team in touchdowns and is now not on great terms with the coaching staff. Currently facing trade rumors, could Wallace be on the outs in Miami?

One month ago, the Miami Dolphins denied the idea that they were attempting to trade away Wallace after one season. Granted, Wallace's one season was not great. The wide receiver put up 930 yards and five touchdowns on a season he was expected to do a lot more.

Wallace is certainly a tough player to trade. If traded before June 1, the Dolphins take an immediate $8.8 million cap charge. Any team interested in the wide receiver would also have to be interested in his $15 million in guaranteed money this season. That is a lot of money to pay a wide receiver who did not even lead his team in receiving stats.

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports the Dolphins are shopping Wallace once again, hoping to get one team interested before the NFL Draft. While La Canfora tosses around the idea of a Wallace/DeSean Jackson player swap, that is so far from happening. However, a deal could come for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Jacksonville has made a quarterback their priority in the draft, but the team is still in need of a wide receiver. As of now,  Justin Blackmon's future is questionable at best. Head coach Gus Bradley admits that he has not spoken with the wide receiver and right now the team is planning on moving on without him. Wallace would be a huge upgrade.

The Oakland Raiders could also be interested. The team has been looking at free agent options since the offseason began, but has not signed anyone noteworthy. The team could use their first-round draft pick for someone like Mike Evans or Sammy Watkins since they took care of the quarterback situation with Matt Schaub, but Wallace could be a guaranteed starter over a rookie.

Right now, all signs point towards Wallace remaining with the Dolphins. His salary is far too high to move. However, several teams still need a big name and he fits that category.
