English Premier League Table and EPL Standings: Chelsea Leads Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal With Manchester United Fading From Top 5

Mar 24, 2014 04:15 PM EDT

The English Premier League table has Chelsea on top and the EPL standings for the Blues gives them a four point lead over Liverpool as the schedule picks up this week and they lead over Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham and Everton, while Manchester United is fading from the top 5 as the final fixture matches come up for the back stretch of the season.

Chelsea has been in the top spot for most of the second half of the season after knocking Arsenal from the perch and they have continued to remain undefeated at home at Stamford Bridge after their dominating win over the Gunners this weekend. The team will stay in first through the week no matter what happens since they have a four point lead and now Liverpool is in second and the Reds are two points ahead of Manchester City and they have a huge match coming up with Man United. Man City has a one point lead over Arsenal, while the Gunners now are in fourth and they are clear six points of Tottenham, who are ahead of Everton by two points.

Manchester United is running out of time to make it into qualifying and while they advanced in the Champions League last week after a 3-0 win against Olympiakos, they now may miss qualifying for the UCL next year. The team is 18 points back of Chelsea and it will take a miracle to get the team back into the mix at the top four. Man United is up over Newcastle and Southampton, while Stoke City, Aston Villa and Hull City are next on the table above Norwich and West Ham United.

Chelsea started off the weekend on Saturday with a dominating win against the Gunners and they scored six goals at home at Stamford Bridge, while Liverpool also scored six goals and they were away against Cardiff City. Luis Suarez had a hat trick once again and he continues to lead the EPL in scoring and Daniel Sturridge also got in on the scoring action, while Oscar had two goals for the Blues in the first match.

Everton won over Swansea City and that came as Hull City defeated West Brom and Manchester City had a huge day as well, winning 5-0 against Fulham and that came at the Etihad Stadium and they have played well there this season. Manchester United got a much needed win at the Boleyn Ground and that came against West Ham United after two goals from Wayne Rooney and now they have to continue winning to try and move up at least a few spots in the league standings. Tottenham won over Southampton at home at White Hart Lane, while Stoke City won on the road against Aston Villa.

The matches on Tuesday include Manchester United hosting Man City for the Manchester Derby at Old Trafford, while Arsenal and Swansea City are playing at Emirates Stadium. The last match on the schedule has Newcastle and Everton and that comes before Liverpool plays on Wednesday against Sunderland and West Ham plays Hull City.
