Florida continues to make their way through the SEC. After going undefeated during the regular season in the conference, they are carrying that success over to the tournament after winning their first matchup with ease. Florida dominated Missouri in their first game after earning a first-round bye. Now they face the Tennessee Volunteers who are looking to pull off an upset.
Florida is putting their 24-game win streak on the line Saturday. The team has won their last four games by an average of 21.5 points, including a 72-49 win over the Tigers. It was not all easy though. The Gators needed a second half run after the two teams were tied at the break. Head coach Billy donovan believes it was a humbling game for the Gators as the team aims to be a No.1 seed in the NCAA tournament.
Florida bounced back in the second half, talking control and outscoring Missouri 34-13. Scottie Wilbekin and Michael Frazier combined for 15 points each while helping the Gators finish 12 of 21 from beyond the arc. Frazier and Wilbekin will crucial for the Gators in their two wins over Tennessee during the regular season and they will be relied on heavily once again on Saturday.
Tennessee is battling for a tournament spot, hoping to get the SEC's at-large bid. Beating Florida would certainly make that a guarantee if the Volunteers can pull it off. The team beat up on South Carolina in their first game continuing a five-game win streak. Tennessee has beaten their last opponents by an average of 27.0 points. Jarnell Stokes and Jordan McRae both reached double-digit points in Friday's game. They played well against Florida in the regular season and will be looking to do so again.
