The Washington Redskins had a rough season in 2013 after dealing with the ups and downs of Robert Griffin III and Mike Shanahan, but with a new coach coming in with Jay Gruden, the team may chase names like Hakeem Nicks, Champ Bailey, Cortland Finnegan, Brandon Spikes, Devin Hester and Golden Tate in free agency.

The Redskins could not stop the pass last season and gave up over 240 yards per game and that could be a focus for the team and Champ Bailey is one option and that would bring him full circle back to the team that traded him. Bailey was let go by the Denver Broncos this week and that could be an option for the Skins since he may not cost that much, while Cortland Finnegan and Brandon Browner are also cornerback options to consider this offseason. The Redskins tagged Brian Orakpo heading into free agency and now they could look to bolster the defense as well.

According to ESPN.com, the Redskins finally have some cap space to work with after a couple years of dealing with the NFL penalties and now they could use that on a number of players. Nicks could be a free agency target if his price comes down, as he is expected to be one of the top receivers and the Redskins could use a boost at the position to get someone legit next to Pierre Garcon and they also could look to sign back Santana Moss to a deal. The team has Jordan Reed developing at tight end and Leonard Hankerson and Aldrick Robinson as options, but they need more consistency in the passing game.

Brandon Spikes and Devin Hester could be potential targets as well if their price tags don't get out of control and while Hester is looking to Tampa Bay to reunite with Lovie Smith, he could help give the Redskins a weapon on their return teams next season. Jay Gruden said he wants to put and emphasis on special teams and adding someone like Hester will help do that. Spikes could be an option from the Patriots, as he can play multiple linebacker positions and another target could be Karlos Dansby from the Cardinals.
