The NY Giants are coming into the draft with a number of needs at various positions and names like CJ Mosley, Mike Evans, Jace Amaro, Eric Ebron, Justin Gilbert, Jordan Matthews, Jimmy Garoppolo and Marqise Lee could be potential picks as mocks start to come out more as the event gets closer.

Last season the Gianst went offensive lineman with their first round pick and according to Todd McShay at ESPN.com, they could do that again with Taylor Lewan from Michigan. Lewan has some past character stuff that the Giants may avoid and other picks include names like Ebron, Amaro and Matthews, as the team could use a new tight end and some work at receiver. The Giants also could look to linebacker, as it has been years since they picked one that high and Mosley is getting high grades from all around.

If he falls to the fourth, fifth, sixth or seventh rounds, the Giants may want to take a look, as that could enable them to trade Ryan Nassib or even Garoppolo himself for another pick down the line. Jerry Reese and the Giants don't usually operate this way, but he showed last season that he was willing to make a pick like that and this year he could follow that same direction. The Giants have been a successful team in the draft over recent years and while not every pick has hit, Reese has shown that his philosophy is one that works.

The team jay lose Hakeem Nicks in free agency, but he was a fantastic draft pick at the end of the first round, as he was a force for the team when they won the Super Bowl and was a huge contributor during his time with the team. Reese also picked Rueben Randle in time to be a perfect replacement for Nicks, as he has the size and skills to do it, while some other recent picks that have been good includes Linval Joseph as well as Prince Amukamara and Justin Pugh.

The Giants pick at number 12 and that could keep them just out of reach of names like Evans and Gilbert, but where they are should enable them to get a legitimate starter for this season. Some other targets pointed out by ESPN.com includes names like Allen Robinson and C.J. Fiedorowicz, along with Cyrus Kouandjio and Austin Seferian-Jenkins. The team is likely to look at tight end and WR at some point in this draft if not in the first round.
