The International Friendly schedule picks up before the World Cup on Wednesday and Australia and Ecuador will be playing and that comes as both nations are gearing up for the World Cup and the match will be played at The New Den and starts up at 3 pm ET.
Both teams are getting ready for World Cup competitions and each have a tough road ahead, as Australia comes in after a couple of wins in friendly matches and those were against Costa Rica and Canada after losing badly in one to France and now they are looking to Chile and the Netherlands as their first two matches. The team is in a tough group B and that is with the champions in Spain and that will be tough to get through in their last match.
The Australian team plays against Chile first and then they have a matchup with the Netherlands and that comes before the final matchup with Spain and the Aussies will not be favored to advance. Ecuador comes in with Cristian Benitez leading in scoring ahead of Felipe Caicedo and he also is tops in assists during the qualifying run for the team and now they play against Australia ahead of their World Cup schedule,.
The team is coming into it after two friendly draw and those were against Honduras and against Argentina and now they play a friendly with the Aussies before a match with the Netherlands away and also against Mexico and that will be a good test as well. Ecuador is in group E and they have a tough set with France, Honduras and Switzerland and they open up against the Swiss. That match is at Nacional before the team plays against Honduras and then they finish with a matchup against France and that will be tough as well.
