The NFL free agent class for 2014 has another cornerback joining the ranks, as former Seattle Seahawks cornerback Brandon Browner has been reinstated by the league after being suspended for the year and now he could be a potential target for teams like the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, the Super Bowl champions, Tampa Bay, Buccaneers, Denver Broncos, Chicago Bears and Oakland Raiders.

Browner was initially suspended for a year by the league for violating the substance abuse policy, but the situation came apart on a technicality, as the NFL treated Browner as a higher level of offender than he should have been. According to ESPN.com, Browner initially tested positive back in 2006 for marijuana use while with the Broncos and after that, he was supposed to technically be tested again by the NFL, but he was released and played in the CFL. During that time, the NFL counted his missed tests as another violation and that put him in "Stage 3" when he was suspended this season as a third violation.

Browner was going to challeneg the case against the NFL and ESPN.com reported that he apparently had a case, becasue the league reinstated him two and half months into his suspension that was meant to be for a year. Browner had a legitimate beef since he was in the CFL and should not have been in stage three and now he comes into the free agent class and he could be one of the top targets due to his specific set of skills.

Browner was a Pro Bowl player back in 2011 and he now is an unrestricted free agent and as one of the taller corners in the NFL, his size could be a huge advantage for a number of teams.  The Seattle Seahawks showed with Browner and Richard Sherman that tall and physical corners can be successful and that should give Browner plenty of suitors. Browner had six picks back in 2011 while playing in all 16 games and last season he played in eight and had just one pick and he has 10 career interceptions.

The Eagles ranked last in the league in passing yards allowed last season and that could put them in the mix for someone like Browner, while the Dallas Cowboys were third worst in the league and they just freed up $10 million in cap space by working on Tony Romo's contract. The Oakland Raiders and Denver Broncos also ranked in the bottom 10 in passing yards allowed per game and the Buccaneers could be in the mix if they opt to trade Darrelle Revis.
