The Chicago Blackhawks and the Anaheim Ducks are the top two teams in the western conference and the NHL and they are facing off on Wednesday night at the Honda Center and the matchup is streaming online from the NHL.com Game Center and the matchup starts at 10 pm ET and features the Stanley Cup champions and the team that could be their biggest threat.

The Blackhawks come into the game after winning over the Los Angeles Kings at the Staples Center and comes before they play against the Phoenix Coyotes and they are ranked first in the league in goals per game with nearly four per contest and they are fifth in power play percentage. The Ducks lost to the Columbus Blue Jackets and they next will play the Nashville Predators on the road and they come into the game ranked fourth in goals per game with three per contest and they are also in the top part of the league in goals against per game.

The NHL standings has the Pittsburgh Penguins, Chicago Blackhawks and Anaheim Ducks leading their respective divisions heading into Wednesday and all three of those teams will be in action along with the Buffalo Sabres, San Jose Sharks and Dallas Stars.

The Penguins are the top team in the eastern conference and in the Metropolitan division and they will be playing the Buffalo Sabres, who are in last place in the eastern conference. The Penguins have been one of the best teams in the league this season and they are 15 points up on the New York Rangers in the division and are ahead of the Boston Bruins in the overall standings.

The Anaheim Ducks are the top team in the NHL with 85 points and they are leading the Pacific division, while the Chicago Blackhawks have 82 points and are first place in the Central division. The two teams meet on Wednesday night in Anaheim and that could end up being a western conference finals preview after the Blackhawks won last season. The Penguins game starts at 7:30 pm, while the Ducks and Blackhawks play at 10 pm and the final game on the schedule has the Dallas Stars taking on the San Jose Sharks at 10:30 pm ET.
