The Texas Longhorns continue their run as one of the hottest teams in basketball right now. The Big 12 team has four-straight wins over ranked opponents, propelling them to a No. 15 ranking in the polls. The team heads on the road to face a TCU team that should not pose too much of a threat to the dominating team.
Texas has really turned things around in conference play. The Longhorns started with two-straight losses to Oklahoma and Oklahoma State before rattling off the six wins in a row, four being over ranked teams. The recently dominated the Kansas Jayhawks over the weekend 81-69. Isaiah Taylor led the team with 23 points while Jonathan Holmes added another 22.
While the Longhorns are shooting well, their defense deserves all the credit. The team held the Jayhawks to just 38.5 percent shooting after they had shot 54.4 percent overall during a seven-game win streak. Freshman Andrew Wiggins was held to just 2-of-12 shooting after putting up 24.3 points in the last three games. The Longhorns blocked 12 shots in that game.
The Longhorns will be forced to play without Javan Felix who suffered a concussion during the game against Kansas. He is the team's third-leading scorer despite being 3 of 14 over the past two games. Playing without Felix should be an issue against TCU.
The Horned Frogs are winless in Big 12 play. They looked poised to get a win against Texas Tech before committing 20 turnovers. They did limit the Red Raiders to go just 1-of-16 from the 3-point line. TCU has not beaten Texas since 1995 and the Longhorns do not look for the streak to be broken on Tuesday.
