Manchester City is in back in second place on the English Premier League behind Arsenal for the moment after the weekend schedule and on Monday the team plays Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium and the matchup with the Blues is the most anticipated of the fixture schedule for this week and if Man City can win at home, they will retake the top spot in the standings once again.

The Gunners pulled back into first place with a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday and they got two goals from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the second half and that got them on the positive side of things after drawing with Southampton last week. Manchester City took advantage of that result with a dominating win over Tottenham on the road at White Hart Lane and now they play against Chelsea at the Etihad with the chance to jump over the Gunners again. Manchester City has a tough schedule coming up, but it is a favorable one, as they play at home in five of the next six matches, including the FA Cup against Chelsea and the UEFA Champions League last 16 against Barcelona.

Man City has the chance to take a title early with the Capital One Cup in a few weeks against Sunderland and that will be at Wembley Stadium and comes after the team plays in the UCL Round of 16 against Barcelona. Lionel Messi is back in the lineup and that first leg will be tough for the team now that they have lost Sergio Aguero to an injury for at least a month. The team has been unbeaten in their last stretch of matches and have not lost since back in November and they have been on a roll with wins over Tottenham, West Ham and Cardiff City in recent weeks. Manchester City plays against Norwich after the match against Chelsea and then they will get an early look at Sunderland before the Cap One Cup final and after that they have Chelsea in the FA Cup Round 5 before playing against Barcelona in the Champs League first leg.

After playing the Capital One Cup final the team has another home match against Aston Villa before playing the return leg against Barcelona in the Champions League at Estadio Camp Nou. After playing Hull City and Fulham the club has a matchup at Old Trafford with Manchester United and then four days later they play at Arsenal at Emirates Stadium and those matchups will be crucial for the top of the Premier League table and soon after that is another away matchup with Liverpool at the Anfield.

Chelsea comes into the matchup after pulling a draw with West Ham United and that followed Round 4 of the FA Cup and this will be the first two two matchups over the next couple weeks between these two clubs. Chelsea has the Champions League coming up as well with Galatasaray away before the return trip to Stamford Bridge and now the Blues come into the day on Monday third on the league table behind Manchester City and Arsenal and ahead of Liverpool, Everton and Tottenham.
