There is no questioning the success of the Kentucky Wildcats at home. The team is a perfect 13-0 when playing on their home court, but their road record is a different story. All of Kentucky's losses have come away from Rupp Arena and now the team faces another road test as they play the LSU Tigers in an SEC road matchup.
Kentucky is fresh off a 3-0 home stand. It has been two weeks since the team lost in overtime on the road to Arkansas and they are hoping the success at home has better prepared them to head back out on the road. The Wildcats will play their next four of five games away from home as they aim to establish conference dominance. LSU will make it tough as the Tigers are 8-2 at home after back-to-back SEC wins.
The wildcats displayed a perfectly balanced attack against the Georgia Bulldogs in their last game. 11 of 12 players recorded points while shooting 50.0 percent overall from the field. Julius Randle led the way with 14 points and nine rebounds. He earned SEC Freshman honors for his performances. However, the question remains if the team can remain that balanced on the road.
The Tigers have been inconsistent this season, but have the threats to make some noise against Kentucky. Johnny O'Bryant will lead the targets with his 14.6 points per game and 7.3 rebounds. He has put up 18.7 points in his last three games alone. He will likely be going up against 7-foot center Willie Cauley-Stein throughout the game.
Kentucky is 2-0 at LSU under head coach John Calipari. The Tigers fans are preparing to brave the snow and make a road game just a bit tougher for Kentucky.
