The New York Rangers and the New Jersey Devils are playing on of the most anticipated games of the season for the NHL outdoor series game at Yankee Stadium on Sunday and the matchup will be live and streaming on NBC on TV and from the NBC Sports Network Live Extra and the game has been delayed a bit due to the weather conditions and while the teams are close in the standings, this game is as much about pride for both sides as the stadium series hits the Bronx.

The Rangers come into the game two points and five wins better in the standings with the Devils and New York comes into the matchup after losing against the St. Louis Blues and they will continue their local tour next, as they play against the New York Islanders at the Stadium again and that should be another anticipated matchup. The team started off very slow this season and are now in better position and the two teams have a nice rivalry and there is a delay in the matchup due to sun glare in the game. The weather has cooperated with the two teams on Sunday with the temperature, but the sun has been a bit much and the glare made the game unsafe to start.

The two teams are warming up and they will have a delayed start and that means the game will go a bit later in the day and it makes the most sense for the league to delay the game, as the bright glare is far too much for some of the players to see. Brad Richards is leading the Rangers in points and assists, while Rich Nash is tops in goals and they all have spoken with the media about how excited they are about participating in the outdoor series matchup.

Henrik Lundqvist and Martin Brodeur are facing off once again and the two head coaches have said their players are ready for the cold, which is expected to be in the single digits for at least part of the game, especially now that it was pushed back. Cam Talbot has been playing well this season and so has Cory Schnieder, but both coaches went with their veterans for this game and it could be one of the best matchups of the season and comes after the Los Angeles Kings lost to the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday in their outdoor series game from Dodger Stadium.
