NY Knicks Trade Rumors: Eric Gordon, Danny Granger, Thaddeus Young, Options With Andrea Bargnani Injury?

The NY Knicks are having a tough season to say the least and now that point guards are asking for trades and Carmelo Anthony is cursing out fans, it could be high time for a shake up and now that Andrea Bargnani is injured, could a trade for Omer Asik, Thaddeus Young, Danny Granger, Eric Gordon or Arron Afflalo be in the works?

The Knicks are fading in the east and if they don't somehow turn things around, they could miss the playoffs and that may lead to Carmelo Anthony leaving the team altogether when he becomes a free agent as expected this summer. According to ESPN.com, Bargnani is now one of the many injured Knicks, as he tore a ligament in his elbow after making a hard play for a dunk against the 76ers this week and now he will be out indefinitely. The Knicks really can't afford another injury and it comes as Kenyon Martin and Metta World Peace as well as Amar'e Stoudemire have been banged up.

SN Nation reports that the Knicks may look into making trades to try and pull out of things and while no reports have come out about these players, the website suggests that Asik, Granger and Eric Gordon could be options for the team to try and replace all that production. The team has been lacking at the point guard position with Raymond Felton injured and with Beno Udrih not playing as well as Mike Woodson hoped, he could be on his way out of town as well. Apart from Tyson Chandler, the team has Jeremy Tyler and Cole Aldrich as their forwards and that is why a trade could be possible for someone like Asik even though he is a center.

Thaddeus Young is an option since he is a forward and the Sixers have been open about the fact that they are willing to trade him as well as Evan Turner. The Knicks have given away tons of draft picks over the past two years and that is not what they want to do now, but to get a trade going that might be their only chance. Bargnani had a solid game against the Sixers, scoring 20 points with four blocked shots, but now he will be out and that puts the Knicks in a tough spot after they dealt for the former number one overall pick in the offseason. The team has a home game on Friday against the Charlotte Bobcats and the team could seriously shorthanded when they come to MSG.

The Knicks are just 15-27 this season and the Bobcats have a better record and the team is now on the outside of the playoffs looking in and they have teams to jump over as well. The team got 28 points from Anthony in the game against the Sixers on Wednesday and seven assists from him as well while Chandler led with 14 rebounds, but apart from those two players the Knicks need some talent and some healthy bodies and with the trading deadline coming up, they could be active.
