NY Knicks Rumors: LeBron James Advises Carmelo Anthony on Free Agency, Chris Paul, Blake Griffin Big 3 Option if LA Clippers Sign Forward in Offseason?

Everyone has an opinion on what the upcoming free agent class should do. With several big names set to hit the market, the media is searching for any kind of lead into the potential plans of everyone. LeBron James is preparing to undergo his second round of free agency and is offering up free advice to others.

A few years back, James underwent the most publicized free agency run when he left the Cleveland Cavaliers for the Miami Heat. The infamous "Decision" aired across ESPN networks, a move the instantly backfired on the star. James is taking a different approach this time around, not saying a single word about his upcoming plans. That is not stopping him for talking with free-agent-to-be Carmelo Anthony of what he should do.

"You got to do whatever makes you happy,'' James said , via Newsday.com. "When you're happy, the game of basketball is going to be fun for you. Strive to be great every day and live with whatever else happens. So we'll see.''

When James left for Miami, he took significantly less money in order to team up with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh and create the "Big 3." The rest is essentially history on that move considering he now has two championship rings to his name. James is not necessarily recommending Anthony make the same move, but instead doing what works before for him personally.

"I recommend it to me,'' James said. "It doesn't work for everybody. The way I live my life don't work for everybody. All I care about is winning. I came to Miami to win. Money didn't make me happy. Winning made me happy, and it still does. That's what matters to me.''

Anthony has said that he plans on testing out free agency at the end of the season, but would still like to remain in New York for the long-term. The forward will garner plenty of attention if he opts to leave the Big Apple, something that might be favorable considering the Knicks are not exactly set up well for the future. They can offer Anthony more than $30 million than any other team.

If Anthony opts to take less money, the Los Angeles Clippers could be his team of choice. The forward is good friends with Chris Paul and teaming up with Blake Griffin could be the next "Big 3." Time will tell if Anthony listens to James or not.
