Both Georgia Tech and Mississippi have had up and down seasons in 2013. Both teams have recorded a few strong wins, but sputtered other times. However, strong starts to the season kept them bowl eligible and now both teams will aim to end their seasons on a high note as they are set to face off in the Music City Bowl.

Ole Miss has a good history of post season success but Georgia Tech will aim to play upset with their triple-option offense, something the Rebels are not used to seeing. Mississippi is seeking their sixth consecutive postseason win as they face the ACC team that is in need of some rebounding.

Ole Miss started the season 3-0 after putting together a top recruiting class. They defeated Texas before heading on a three-game losing streak. They also lost their final two games after a disappointing overtime loss to in-state rivals, Mississippi State. They managed a 7-5 finish despite the preseason hype. Hugh Freeze remains hopeful the team can bounce back for one more win.

Junior quarterback Bo Wallace managed just 17 touchdowns this season, far less than his sophomore year. He did finish second in the SEC with 3,090 passing yards much to the credit of SEC freshman of the year, Laquon Treadwell. The wide receiver finished with 557 yards and five touchdowns on the year.

This is the 17-straight bowl game appearance for Georgia Tech. The team is coming off a win over Southern California in last year's Sun Bowl after losing seven-straight games before that. They won four-of their last five games of the year, also opening 3-0 including a win of now-ranked Duke.

Tech will rest on their triple option to take the Rebels by surprise in the Sun Bowl. The Yellow Jackets finished sixth in the league with 311.7 rushing yards per game much thanks to tailback David Sims. He could cause headaches for the Ole Miss defense who allowed 188.4 yards per game against major conference opponents.

The Music City Bowl features two teams looking for one last win to cap off rather disappointing 2013 seasons. Both Ole Miss and Georgia Tech had decent preseason hype after successful recruiting classes, but failed to capitalize during tough stretches in the middle of the season. The Ole Miss run defense will be test on Monday as the Yellow Jackets aim to slow down the big arm of quarterback Bo Wallace.
