Both Villanova and Syracuse enter their Saturday matchup with perfect records. The former conference rivals are well-aware of each other's talents as both sit ranked in the top 10. Their 11-0 records make this matchup of newly Big East and ACC teams a must-see.
Syracuse had plenty of success during their time in the Big East. Head coach Jim Boeheim led the Big Orange to a 366-192 record. Now in the ACC, Boeheim is not thrilled with the new conference, but Syracuse seems to be handling the change well. Having yet to face an ACC conference opponent, the Orange still have a few quality wins already to their resume. They defeated St. John's 68-63 and will start conference play against Miami next week.
Syracuse is being led by Trevor Cooney and CJ Fair. Both accounted for 15 forced turnovers against the Panthers as the team shot 53.7 percent overall against High Point. Fair currently leads the team with 17.8 points per game. Tyler Ennis might be the more all-around player, leading the team in both assists and steals.
Villanova is ready to continue their dominance over Syracuse. The Wildcats have beaten Syracuse three of their last five games at home. They also won the last meeting between the two as both teams were ranked in the top 20 at the time. Head coach Jay Wright is enjoying his time in the Big East as he is now the conference's longest tenured coach with Boeheim out.
This is the best start for the Wildcats after their 10-0 start back in 2005. Their season is already impressive as they have knocked off both Kansas and Iowa earlier in the year. Both teams were ranked at the time while Syracuse's only win over a ranked opponent is Baylor back in November.
Villanova is coming off a win over Butler when Josh Hart had 19 points as the team shot 50 percent overall. They look to keep their record perfect with another win over a ranked rival.
