The New York Knicks suffered another heartbreaking loss on Monday night to the Washington Wizards and the more important loss may be on the roster, as the team will be without Pablo Prigioni for at least two weeks after he fractured his big toe and that could spark the team to trade for Kyle Lowry, Rajon Rondo or Jeremy Lin to replace him with Raymond Felton also out.

The Knicks are just 7-17 on the season after the loss to the Washington Wizards and with starting point guard Raymond Felton already out with an injury, the team may have to make a move to get a legit point guard back in the fold. According to ESPN.com, the Knicks and Raptors had been discussing a deal for point guard Kyle Lowry that involved Raymond Felton and possibly Iman Shumpert and while those talks have died down, they could speed up again with the injuries. The team could go for Lowry, but the Raptors have been asking for a high price and while Rondo and Lin would cost a bit as well, it's a move the Knicks could consider.

Shumpert could play some point guard for the Knicks until Felton and Prigioni return and the team is also hoping that Tyson Chandler will be back some time after the New Year begins and that could be a big boost for the team as well. Felton is out with a hamstring issue that could keep him out multiple weeks and with Prigioni out and the team struggling, James Dolan could make a move to shake things up.

A trade has been speculated on for weeks and the Knicks has originally looked into a Shumpert for Kenneth Faried deal with the Denver Nuggets, but that never moved far forward. The Lakers reportedly have called about Shumpert and that is a deal that could go down as well, but that wouldn't bring the Knicks a point guard since the Lakers have a couple injured guys as well. The team has Beno Udrih and a rookie on the roster and they would like to get someone else and Chris Smith could get called up from the D-League but that's unlikely and now the Knicks must find a way to rebound despite the injuries.

The Raptors have asked for Shumpert as well as possibly Tim Hardaway Jr. and picks in a deal and that might be too much for the team and they also could sign players like Sebastian Telfair, Delonte West and Mike James as free agents. The Knicks come in with the 24th ranked offense in the NBA and they are 22nd in assists per game and they have to start getting things together before they fall too far down in the standings in the east.
