The Lakers have been playing much better in the early goings compared to last season and now the team has an 8-8 record heading into the matchup against the Pistons and the Lakers come in after a great overall performance against the Nets. Nick Young was solid with 26 points, while Jordan Hill led the team in rebounding and Steve Blake was tops in assists with 10 and the Lakers are averaging over 100 points per game and is ranked 14th in scoring, while the defense is ranked 25th in the NBA so far this season. Pau Gasol is currently leading the team in scoring and Kobe Bryant's return could be a few weeks away and if the Lakers can hold tight until he returns, the team has a chance to do some damage in the western conference, but it will remain on the fact that Kobe is back to the player he once was. The team has won three of the last four games, dropping only the game against the Washington Wizards on Tuesday and that was the first of a back to back on the road with Brooklyn coming next. The team won three straight starting with the Pistons at home and then against the Golden State Warriors and the Sacramento Kings and next they have the most surprising team in the league with the Portland Trail Blazers next on the schedule.

The team then has a road game against the Kings before playing the Raptors and the Suns and the schedule picks up a bit heading into the back stretch, as the team plays on the road against the Oklahoma City Thunder and then the team has more road games in a row against the Bobcats, Atlanta Hawks as well as the Memphis Grizzlies before returning home against the Minnesota Timberwolves and that game will be on ESPN. The end of the year has the Warriors and Suns and the team has a Christmas Day game against the Miami Heat and LeBron James on Christmas day and that game will be on ABC starting up at 5 pm.
