The Dallas Cowboys and Oakland Raiders are playing on Thanksgiving Day for the annual set of NFL games and the matchup will be the second one on the schedule following the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions from Ford Field and the CBS game will start at 4:30 pm and will stream online from NFL.com and it a very anticipated matchup for Tony Romo and company at AT&T Stadium.

Tony Romo has been playing some of the best football of his career this season and the Cowboys come into the matchup after defeating the New York Giants on the road in a very close game by three points with a field goal at the end and now they are tied in first place for the NFC East and are in great position to win the division. The Eagles were in first place heading into last week on a bye and now the Cowboys can win two games before the Eagles even play one during that span and that could put the team in first place for at least a few days and with the Raiders starting an undrafted rookie in Matt McGloin, that is a real possibility. The Cowboys come into the game passing for nearly 250 yards per game and while the defense has not been great, they have been good enough over the past month to keep the Cowboys in it. The team gave up a ton of yards in the loss to the Saints and one Thursday they will have to keep the Raiders from making big plays.

The Cowboys have won three of the past five games and two of the past three and in all those wins the defense played well and kept teams under 25 points in every contest and on Sunday they played good when they needed to and after Eli Manning went for over 400 yards in the opener, the team shut him down good on Sunday. The Cowboys schedule the rest of the way is a tough one, as the team has two division games as well as a big Monday night football matchup coming up in Chicago against the Bears at Soldier Field. The Cowboys have been a streaky team this season and they could be getting it together at just the right time, as they have five games left to go and a clear shot at the division title with the Eagles in the final game of the season.

Romo comes into the game passing for nearly 3,000 yards this season and 23 touchdowns and while the rushing game has not been productive for most of the season, the wideouts have been great, with Dez Bryant and Jason Witten leading the way with a combined 14 scores. Bryant was excellent last week and he is first on the team with 61 catches for over 800 yards and Witten comes in as one of the top tight ends with 51 catches and 569 yards and an impressive six touchdowns. DeMarco Murray has 634 yards on the ground and if he can stay healthy the rest of the season he should be a big factor for the team.

The Cowboys next play on the road against the Chicago Bears on Monday night football and then the team heads back home to play against the Green Bay Packers. The team then has an away division game against the Washington Redskins and in Week 17 the team has a crucial matchup with the Eagles and after losing the division on the final day of the season the past two years to the New York Giants and the Washington Redskins, it may come down to that again and the Cowboys may not be able to deal with the heartbreak of it happening for a third year in a row.
