Minnesota Vikings Rumors: Greg Jennings Expects Brett Favre Treatment in Green Bay Return, WR Predicts Boos as Christian Ponder Confident Starter in Week 12

Greg Jennings has not had the kindest of words towards Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers after the team opted to not re-sign him in the offseason. The wide receiver certainly did not hesitate to voice his opinion on the franchise or its quarterback and not all of it was very nice. Now with the Minnesota Vikings, Jennings will make his return to Lambeau Field and he expects to hear it from the fans.

Jennings spent the first seven years of his career in Green Bay, becoming a franchise player and helping the team win a Super Bowl at one point. He has done plenty of Lambeau Leaps in his career, but come Sunday, he said he would not dare. The wide receiver is currently recovering from an Achilles' strain so he is simply hoping to just be on the field when the Vikings faceoff against his former team. Jennings sat out last week but plans to return healthy in Week 12.

"That's the game plan. That's what we hope," Jennings said, via the Pioneer Press. "I want to make sure that I'm healthy. I've never had an issue like this before. Just want to make sure we take the proper precautions (this week)."

If there is one game on the schedule that Jennings does not want to miss, it is this one. Ever since the two sides had a slight war of words in the offseason, the veteran has been eager to show off to his former fanbase. He understands that entering the stadium as a visitor will feel different and he is expecting plenty of mixed reactions from the fans.

"It will be different, just even entering into that stadium and that locker room on the other side. It will be a different experience. But changes aren't always bad. It's what you make of it," Jennings said. "I'm coming in there with a rival team, so I don't expect they're going to be [cheering for me]. Not at all. I don't think they've ever done that. They didn't do that for Brett [Favre]. So I don't expect anything else."

The Vikings certainly have a chance to go in and get a win. The Packers will likely be without quarterback Aaron Rodgers once again and coming off three-straight losses. Christian Ponder is expected to start and Adrian Peterson is starting to feel better after a groin injury limited his play in Week 11. The Vikings have not won in Lameau Field since 2009 when Favre was their quarterback. Minnesota has had their share of struggles this year, but Jennings believes this is a game they can turn things around.

"We've been struggling, but we're not technically out of it," Jennings said. "We still have an opportunity with this week, a team that we feel like we can get. They're struggling right now."
