New England Patriots quarterback Tim Tebow warms up before facing the New York Giants in their NFL preseason game in Foxborough, Massachusetts, August 29, 2013. "

Tim Tebow is still an NFL free agent quarterback, but that doesn't mean he can't escape the news cycle and that happened again this week, as a man sent a letter to the Jersey City mayor that included white powder, spiritual ranting and of course a picture of the former New York Jets quarterback.

According to Deadspin.com and NJ.com, the letter was sent to Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop as well as "family and friends" and the letter was opened by an aide before some white powder fell out of it, which cause the building and City Hall to be evacuated for a hazmat situation, said Public Safety Director James Shea. The bomb squad was also called in and emergency personnel came in to investigate and Shea said that the letter included "spiritual stuff. Heaven stuff. A picture of Tebow." Naturally, a picture of the quarterbacks.

Tebow was of course the Jets backup quarterback last season after he was traded to the team from the Denver Broncos and after things did not work out, he was released and picked up by the New England Patriots before that ended as well. The report from NJ.com said that the aide called police right away and the powder was investigated and found to be harmless within an hour and police will continue to look at the situation.

The person who sent the envelope has not yet been found and Shea said that there have been issues like this in the past and it will be looked at by the authorities. No word yet on whether the man is a big Tebow supporter or just a religious but, but even when he wants to stay out of the news, Tebow can't.
