The Major League Baseball offseason is here and with the host stove heating up already, there are a number of name players that will be on the market from all positions and Jeff Passan at Yahoo Sports has put together a full list split by position and some of the top names this offseason on the market includes Robinson Cano, Jacoby Ellsbury, Matt Garza and Brian McCann.

Cano is likely to get the biggest deal of anyone and while he is asking for $300 million, if he wants to stay with the Yankees he will likely need to take less than that. The team has extended qualifying offers to Robinson Cano, Curtis Granderson and Hiroki Kuroda and that means at least one of those dudes is leaving. The team is going to try and keep them all and Granderson would be best served by taking that deal, while Kuroda may get a bit more since he was the best pitcher for the team last season.

Cano obviously will not be taking the $14.1 million offer and he could clean up elsewhere if he wants to sign a 10-year deal for his next contract. Kuroda won 11 games and was easily the best of the rotation, while Granderson dealt with injuries and might be better off spending another season in pinstripes. There are a number of top name free agents this offseason, including Matt Garza, Brian McCann, Stephen Drew, Cano, Ubaldo Jimenez, Ervin Santana, Carlos Beltran, Mike Napoli and many more.

Last season Cano had another very good season and with him getting into his 30s, the team may not want another deal like the A-Rod one for 10 years and that could be an issue if he decides to stick on that number. The Yankees brought up Cano and developed him and now he has a chance to cash in big, but it remains to be seen if it will be with the Yankees. The team has already made calls to Brian McCann and others and they also have been linked to a possible trade for Brandon Phillips and that could be a move the team looks into if they lose Cano to someone else and that could be a huge loss for the team, but one they can handle especially if Cano signs somewhere for $300 million.
