The Michigan Wolverines are back after a few tough years out of the top ranks of college football and now they are getting ready for a tough road game against the Michigan State Spartans in East Lansing and the team comes into the game after a long break and a big win for the matchup at Spartan Stadium, which will air live on ABC and stream with coverage on the Watch ESPN website.

Michigan is coming into the matchup after a big win over Indiana that saw the team put up over 60 points and before that the team dropped its first game of the season in four overtimes against Penn State. The team now faces off against a 7-1 MSU team and they are 4-0 in the Big Ten, while Michigan is now 2-1 and chasing the Spartans and this would be a huge victory for the team in the division. The Wolverines won five games in a row before losing to PSU and now they start a tough stretch after defeating Indiana. The game saw quarterback Devin Gardner throw for over 500 yards and Fitzgerald Toussaint had another nice game with 151 yards on the ground, while Jeremy Gallon ended up with huge numbers of 369 yards receiving.

The Wolverines have had a nice offensive run this season and they are ranked in the top 10 in scoring with over 40 points per game and the defense has held its weight as well with just under 30 points allowed per game. Gardner has been playing very well with nearly 1,800 passing yards and 13 touchdowns and Toussaint is having a very good season with 575 yards and 11 touchdowns, while Gardner has been a force on the ground as well with 520 yards to rank second on the team and he also has nine touchdowns, while Gallon has put up some great numbers as well with Gardner tossing him the ball. Michigan State is still leading the Legends division and in the Leaders it is Ohio State and that makes the final matchup with the Buckeyes a huge test for the Wolverines. The team has Wisconsin right behind them and the Buckeyes will need to win out to keep things going and the Wolverines now have the chance to go on another solid run.

The team has another tough game against Nebraska coming up next and then they play on the road against Northwestern and then Iowa before hosting Ohio State at the big house and that will be a huge game for the Wolverines. The team is ranked 42nd in the nation in passing yards per game and they are averaging over 400 total and it should be a big test for the team with Michigan State. The Spartans are coming into the matchup with Michigan after a win over Illinois and they have a tough schedule coming up as well, but it should be enough to get the team into the conversation.

The team plays on the road against Nebraska and then against Northwestern before coming home against Minnesota and the team has already pulled off some nice wins with Notre Dame and Indiana this season and now they have Michigan. The defense has been stellar with just 12 points allowed per game and over the past two weeks they have allowed just three points and the offense has been playing much better and the big test will be to see if they can stop Gardner.
