We will start with the matchups and time.
Time: 8 p.m. ET- Brooklyn Nets vs. Miami Heat
Hello Paul Pierce. Hi Kevin Garnett. You guys are wearing different uniforms, but still hate LeBron James and the Heat. Okay. Well, this will be the first of four meetings between the two of you guys. Carry on.
The Nets and Heat meet at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn where these two Eastern Conference giants square off for the first time in the 2013-2014 regular season. They saw plenty of each other during exhibition and the two teams have players on both sides who adamantly dislike each other. Whether they mean it competitively or personally, who cares!?
The Nets are 0-1 in the season, searching for their first victory of the 2013 season. They will be fueled by a Nets crowd that will probably chant "Brooooooooooklyn" all night. The amount of "O's" added is to your discretion. They will keep a watchful eye on LeBron James' and Dwyane Wades' every move as the dynamic duo is going for a three-peat at the end of the season.
The Nets, however, believe they have the right parts. Deron Williams and Brook Lopez are two of the best in the business, while Garnett and Pierce are future Hall of Famers. The Heat are not worried about what other teams have, they know they are the defending champions and they know that they can matchup well against anybody on the floor as long as the team is playing together.
Matchup & Time: Los Angeles Lakers vs. San Antonio Spurs
In a rematch of the 2013 Playoffs' First Round of the Western Conference Finals, the Lakers and Spurs meet again. Both teams possess dinosaurs that will wind up in the Hall of Fame once they retire, but those guys will not be on the floor tonight. We are speaking of Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan. Bryant is still recovering from last year's season ending injury, while Duncan is out after Tony Allen whacked him across his chest in the season opener.
In return, fans will be able to see two other dinosaurs battle it out on the floor as Pau Gasol and Manu Ginobili become weapons for their respective teams. Gasol is a scoring threat because of his size and Ginobili can finish at the bucket with his unorthodox style of play.
The Lakers are 1-1 after their whalopping of the Los Angeles Clippers. Let's see if they can do it again in front of their home crowd. They followed up that huge win with a loss against the Golden State Warriors. Meanwhile, the Spurs will look to make it two straight victories after defeating those scrappy Memphis Grizzlies in their first game of the 2013-2014 season.
