Fantasy Football Deep League Pickups Week 9: Deji Karim, Drew Davis, Tashard Choice, LaVon Brazill and Josh McCown Top Sleepers

Nov 01, 2013 11:51 AM EDT

The fantasy football week got off to a big start with the Thursday night football game between the Miami Dolphins and the Cincinnati Bengals and with a number of big games coming up over the weekend, some deeper league finds and pickups for Week 9 includes Drew Davis, Deji Karim, Tashard Choice, LaVon Brazill and Josh McCown as well as wideout Kenny Stills.

This season there have been a number of deep sleeper players that have stepped up into starting roles, including Marvin Jones and Zac Stacy and now with Week 9 coming up and injures starting to set in, there are a number of players that could have an impact on Sunday, including Karim, who could get some carries if Arian Foster and Ben Tate are limited for the Houston Texans qwhen they play against the Colts. Specaking of Indianapolis, with Reggie Wayne out for the season, LaVon Brazill could be an option to pick up, as Andrew Luck needs to throw the ball to someone.

In the last game for the Bears, Josh McCown looked solid while coming in for the injured Jay Cutler and with him missing out on Monday night football, he could surprise with some numbers against the Green Bay Packers. The game is in Lambeau, so keep that in mind, but with some top players on byes like Colin Kaepernick and Peyton Manning, McCown could be a good enough option to get by with. Injuries are also playing a factor in Buffalo, as Tashard Choice could get some carries with CJ Spiller and Fred Jackson hurting and another player that is a great option is Kenny Stills after the game that he had last week. Drew Davis also is a solid option with Roddy White still hurting and Julio jones out for the season.

Karim has not played yet this season for the Texans and he has just 290 yards in his career rushing, but he also has 17 catches and that could make him an option if Tate and Foster are out for Sunday's game against the Colts. Head coach Gary Kubiak said that Karim could get some touches with the two backs dealing with injuries and he also has shown that he can play special teams. Karim is a low impact player right now, but he could surprise on Sunday if Tate and Foster are dealing with injuries.

Drew Davis has been an option the past two weeks and while he only has six catches over that time, he had five of those in the game against the Cardinals and he also scored a touchdown. Matt Ryan could look to him again this week as the team gets ready to take on the Carolina Panthers and that is a big divisional game for the Falcons. Kenny Stills is moving out of the deep sleeper category with the way he is playing, as he had three catches for 129 yards and two scores last week against the Buffalo Bills. Stills has been a solid target for Drew Brees and with the Saints passing more than nearly anyone, Stills could continue to get targets in the offense.
