Boston Red Sox World Series Champions 2013: Team Joins Miami Heat, Baltimore Ravens and Chicago Blackhawks As League Champs, Who Celebrated The Best?

The Boston Red Sox are now World Series champions after winning Game 6 at Fenway Park and now they join the Miami Heat, Baltimore Ravens and Chicago Blackhawks as the calendar year major professional sports champions from the NFL, NBA and NHL and now it's time to look at who was the best.

This is a purely speculative and opinion based idea anyway, plus, it's hard to compare sports since they are so different, but with the Red Sox joining those other teams, it's interesting to look at how they got there and which team had the best run. Depending on how you look at things, one could argue that the Miami Heat were the "best" since they may have the best player on their team in their respective sport while the others do not, but one could also argue that the total makeup of the Red sox or Ravens' roster is the "best" of the championship bunch.

The Blackhawks, Heat and Red Sox have showed some dominance by winning multiple championships over a year's span, while the Ravens won for the second time this millennium. The most entertaining matchups likely were the Miami Heat and the Blackhawks, as those series went deep, but so did the Red Sox, although the final matchup in Game 6 was a dud. LeBron James and the Heat "earned" this championship with a seven game win over the San Antonio Spurs and now they have the chance for a three-peat.

All the teams have some important plays and memorable moments from their championship runs, including the Ravens defeating the Denver Broncos after a last second play to send the game into overtime, or Ray Allen hitting a nearly impossible step back three pointer to keep the NBA finals going. The Red Sox dealt with the Boston Bombing and its aftermath this season, while they also made the bounce back from worst to first place and that could be one reason why they are the best.

The team made a historical jump from last place in the AL East to the World Series and now they could have a sustained period of success. All these teams could repeat, with the Ravens looking like the worst of the bunch right now after a so-so start, while the Heat and Blackhawks easily could make another title run. While of course it's tough to decide which one the best is since it is hard to compare sports, it's fun no?
