The Chicago Bears were one a bye this week and with the NFL trading deadline coming on Tuesday at 4 pm, there are a number of defensive players that could get moved and some names that have come up includes Justin Tuck, Jairus Byrd, Jason Babin and Cortland Finnegan and with the Bears playing the Packers next, could they make a move?

There is a chance that none of those players gets dealt and there's a chance that the Bears sit tight and do nothing, but after losing a tough game to the Washington Redskins that made the defense look pretty bad, could Marc Trestman try for a bit of an upgrade? The team will have to make do without Jay Cutler for a few weeks and one way to make things sting a bit less could be to trade for someone to fortify the defense, including possibly Jairus Byrd or Justin Tuck. The Buffalo Bills appear willing to trade Byrd, while the Giants may want to get the aging veteran off their hands before the offseason to help save some money.

The Bears are literally the worst team in the league when it comes to getting to the quarterback, as they have less than 10 sacks this season even with Julius Peppers on the line and adding someone like Tuck would being depth to the position. Babin could also be a solid option for those same reasons and with the Jacksonville Jaguars looking pretty terrible and winless this season, it wouldn't be the craziest stretch in the world to see the team make that move. Chicago has done a good job against offenses when it comes to forcing turnovers, but they are giving up too many yards with over 350 on average this season and shoring up their coverage could help with a player like Byrd or Finnegan, as each have been to the Pro Bowl in the past. The team has already lost Lance Briggs on defense and adding any of those players would add depth and talent to the unit.

Byrd is a prime option since he is a franchise player and is just 27-years-old and the safety position is one of need for the Bears. Babin has been playing well for the terrible Jaguars and while he has just 2.0 sacks, he has been a consistent disruptor and he could help boost the defensive line for the Bears, as could Tuck, who is finally coming on after a slow start. The Giants may want to trade him while the time is hot, as he had his first full sack of the season against the Vikings and he also played very solid against the Eagles.

The Bears are ranked 27th passing yards allowed per game and 24th in rushing and with those numbers not looking to great, a trade could help change things drastically and with a tough schedule up ahead, they may need it. The team plays next week on Monday night football against the Packers before playing the Ravens and Lions and they have another looming MNF showdown with the Dallas Cowboys as well as a final game of the season against the Packers.
