Monday Night Football TV Schedule: Seattle Seahawks Play Rams As St. Louis Takes Center Stage In Sports With Game 5 World Series At Busch Stadium

Oct 28, 2013 10:08 AM EDT

The Monday night football matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and the St. Louis Rams has some extra flavor in Week 8, as the teams will play at the Edward Jones Dome just as the Boston Red Sox and the St. Louis Cardinals matchup at Busch Stadium just a mile down the road in St. Louis, making the city the center of the sports world for a night.

Some luster has been taken out of the game for the Rams, as Sam Bradford is injured and out for the season and that makes this year nearly a lost one for St. Louis, as they are chasing both the Rams and the Seahawks in the division and even the Cardinals looked good in a win over the Falcons this weekend. The Rams don't have much of a rushing game to speak of and the offense could be ugly on Monday night, while the Seahawks appear to be humming along after losing to the Colts, winning two straight games while keeping opponents under 25 points and now they are going for their third win in a row and it comes in their third of three road games since playing the Colts. The team is about to finish a stretch of four road games in five weeks and now they will play on Monday night after having the Thursday game last week against the Cardinals, giving them extra time to prepare.

Percy Harvin will not be active for the game despite making a recovery from his hip surgery and it is very likely that he will be in the lineup in one of the next few weeks, or it could take until the bye week coming up. The team has another Monday night matchup later in the season and after playing the Rams they will have a home matchup against the Buccaneers and then the second of two road games in three weeks with the Atlanta Falcons. That game on the road is a rematch from last year in the playoffs and the next game will be against the Vikings before the bye in Week 12 and that will be much needed after a strong start to the season.

The team comes out of the bye with their second Monday night game against the New Orleans Saints and that one will be at home, while the next two will be tough games on the road. After defeating the Niners at home, the Hawks will travel to San Francisco to play the 49ers and then they have the dreaded east coast trip to play the Giants. The last time the team was in New York it went pretty well, but by next matchup the Giants could be much improved, although the Seahawks will be favored. The team ends the season with two home division games, including against the Cardinals and Rams.

The Red Sox and the Cardinals are now tied 2-2 after the Cards lost on Sunday night and the Seahawks Rams game will surely take back seat to that, especially with Bradford hurt and the rams just 3-4. The Cardinals won and then lost in heartbreaking fashion and now the World Series is assured to go back to Boston and this game on Monday will be the final chance for Cardinals to play in front of the St. Louis crowd and now the series is a best of three going forward.
