Maurice Jones-Drew Trade Rumors: RB On Trading Block With Mark Ingram, Mikel Leshoure and Ryan Williams For Deadline

The NFL schedule is heading into Week 9 on the calendar and as the trade deadline comes on Tuesday at 4 pm for teams, some players names will start coming up and CBS has put out some running backs that could move, including Maurice Jones-Drew, Ryan Williams, Darren McFadden, Mark Ingram and Mikel Leshoure and more crazily Adrian Peterson.

Jon Beason was traded on defense and Jason Babin is another player that could move from the Jaguars and some teams that could be in play for the receivers includes the San Francisco 49ers, Baltimore Ravens and the Green Bay Packers. Maurice Jones-Drew is the most obvious choice as the running back most likely to get dealt since his team is winless this season and he is coming into the final year of his contract, but he also will cost a bit for teams with his deal and the Jags might just hang onto him for the rest of the year. Jones-Drew dealt with injuries all last season and that was his first season dealing with injuries in his career and this season he has over 300 yards rushing and in the last game for the deadline against the Niners he had 75 yards and 19 carries along with six catches and nearly 50 yards receiving.

Jones-Drew has been banged up a bit this season, but he has been able to play more consistently than last year and he finally went over 100 total yards in his last game. Jones-Drew has been playing better as of late and has had his best stretch in what seems like a couple years with 70 yards or more in three of his past four games and he has had at least two receptions in each of the past four, including six on eight targets against the 49ers. The Jags will continue giving him the rock and he could be valuable to a number of contenders if the team wants to trade him, including for someone like the Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots and the Houston Texans, all of whom have been dealing with some injuries this season.

Mikel Leshoure, Mark Ingram and Ryan Williams all could be potential players to move and they might be easier than Jones-Drew, as they are getting paid less and they are in different situations that Drew with his contract and impending free agency age situation. Williams has already been shopped by the Cardinals as he deals with injury issues over the past two seasons, while Mark Ingram has played himself kind of into oblivion with the Saints and since they don't put too much value on the running back position and are pretty set with Darren Sproles and Pierre Thomas, he could be one to move.

Ingram is a former Heisman winner and first round pick and he has been dealing with injuries and he was not really being used in the rotation anyway in New Orleans this season, carrying the ball under 20 times and rushing for just 31 yards in the first two games of the season. The Lions ate very set now with Reggie Bush and Joique Bell and that is why Leshoure is such a prime option to be moved and while he has rushed for just nine yards on two carries in two games this season, he is very solid coming out from the backfield with 34 career receptions and last season he rushed for an impressive 800 yards in 14 games and he could be a nice spark for a team in need of a running back, including someone like the Ravens, Buccaneers and Texans.
