The St. Louis Rams are dealing with a tough situation after losing starter Sam Bradford for the season and after having some discussions about Tim Tebow, the team decided to reach out to former Green Bay Packers and Vikings quarterback Brett Favre about the possibility of returning.

According to ESPN.com, Adam Schefter reports that the Rams called on Favre about the possibility of him retuning to the NFL once again to take over their starting position, as they likely will give it to backup Kellen Clemens for now. The report says that the team asked the 44-year-old about coming back to the NFL for the second half of the schedule by getting into contact with his agent, even though he hasn't played in a couple years since retiring from the Vikings.

Favre said that it was a "flattering" offer, but that he was not planning on returning and said that he had a great career and that it was time for him to end things after suffering a shoulder injury a couple years ago. Favre came in for the Vikings and took the team to the NFC Championship against the Saints and it was an exciting thing to watch for football fans, which would be why it would be so cool to have him back again.

Favre said that he was happy with where he is now and as a grandfather, he felt coming back to the NFL would not be the right move for him. The Rams have brought in Brady Quinn as another backup and it is expected that Kellen Clemens and his four pass attempts this season will start on Monday night. It's a tough break for the Rams and for Bradford, as he was looking like an improved player with 1,600 passing yards and 14 touchdowns and now he will have an uncertain future as he recovers.

Favre was fun to watch for his whole career and in 2009 it was an amazing run he had with the Vikings, making it to the championship game after passing for over 4,000 yards with 33 touchdowns and while he did not have as great a season after that, his last three years with the Jets and Vikings were entertaining and him coming back to play for the Rams would have been a cool sight to see.
