Ohio State Band Michael Jackson (Video) Tribute to Bad and They Moonwalk!

There is always a moment in sports where pop artists steal the spotlight. This time it was a Michael Jackson tribute by the Ohio State Band that impressed during halftime. Here is the video of the performance as the Ohio State Band did what virtually seemed like the impossible.

It was the 25th anniversary release of one of MJ's most successful albums, "Bad." The first song on the medley was "Thriller," which is not only one of his more popular songs around the world, but is super appropriate because Halloween is around the corner. Nothing like some Thriller to set the mood right on an October afternoon. This was followed by the song "Bad" and the band broke out and spelled that across the field "BAD" with a bit of the "A" leaking into the "D".

The public announcer spoke as the band prepared for to play a brief intro of "Wanna Be Starting Something" before making its when into "Billy Jean" and that is when the unexpected occurred. Not only did Michael lean forward, though the leaning is done solely in the "Smooth Criminal" performances, but the lean gave way to the spectacular moonwalk popularized by the King of Pop himself.

It's amazing, though the following dance step confused me. I do not remember Michael Jackson every breaking out into a split and then hailing Hitler 5:47, but the fans did not mind.

Witness the creative genius yourself as the Ohio State Band really put together a great performance.

The Buckeyes (4) made the best of the afternoon, completing the band's performance with a great performance of their own as they defeated the unranked Iowa Hawkeyes 34-24.

The band must have ignited some fuel into their system. Trailing 17-10 at the half, the Buckeyes scored 24 second half points, limiting the Hawkeyes to just a touchdown in the third quarter. With the victory, the Buckeyes are now 7-- in the season.
