The Seattle Seahawks would love to have Percy Harvin back right now, but the team knows that after signing the receiver to a long-term deal and starting 6-1, patience is the best course of action and while fantasy football owners are eager for him to get back on the field, in the meantime pickup options Sidney Rice and Golden Tate should hold them over until Harvin can make it back.

One good sign for the Seahawks and fantasy owners alike is the fact that Harvin is getting back to practice for the team. According to ESPN.com, Harvin can work out at practice for the next three weeks without being added to the active roster and while he can be added for the Monday night game against the Rams in Week 8, chances are the team will continue to be cautious with him until he can return to the field. The report from ESPN.com says that Harvin has been working hard on his recovery since getting surgery in August and now that he is back at practice, speculation has been rampant that he will be back on the field soon.

Harvin came over the Seahawks in a big trade this offseason and them signed him to a $60 million deal after that and while they want him back now, they also don't want him to get any more hurt than he already is. The situation has some similarities to Rob Gronkowski and now that he has had time to recover, he looks very good and the Seahawks are hoping for the same result from Harvin.

The Seahawks had to give up significant draft picks to get Harvin and he is coming off of a very good season with the Vikings despite getting injured and missing the back part of the season for Minnesota last year. Despite getting hurt, he had 62 catches for 677 yards and three touchdowns and early in the season he was looking like an MVP candidate. Thus far he has not been moved off of the IR/PUP list and the team likely will not do it until he is fully ready to return.

The Seahawks are 6-1 right now so it isn't like they are desperate for him to get back, but with Sidney Rice and Golden Tate getting a little banged up, head coach Pete Carroll may be a bit worried about depth at the position for the offense and QB Russell Wilson, who is already getting hit way more than he did last season with the team. Harvin is one of the most electric players in the game and he has five kickoff touchdowns and that could be another factor where he impacts the Seahawks, as they have not had the best average from that this season.

Rice has been slowed this season by an injury and he has just 15 catches for 231 yards, but he has three touchdowns during the year and he is coming off of a solid three catch, 50 yards game that saw him score. This week could be tough, as he could be limited heading into Monday night, so owners should keep an eye on the injury report. Golden Tate is also dealing with an injury to his foot and while he has 27 catches for 346 yards this season, he could be limited as well on Monday. The team said that he was okay after the game and with four catches for 77 yards last week, that was his best totals in a month and if Harvin is still out, he could have a solid game against a weak Rams team.
