2013 World Series Schedule: When Does it Start? Dates and Time for All 7 Games

Oct 20, 2013 05:00 PM EDT

The 2013 World Series has its pairs and it will see a rematch of the magical 2004 Fall Classic that will go down as one of the most memorable in the history of the game. The Boston Red Sox once again meet the St. Louis Cardinals in October. When does the World Series start? We have the times and dates for all seven games of the series as the Red Sox and Cardinal square off for the 2013 crown.

It took the Cardinals six games to dispatch the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2013 NLCS. Rookie pitcher Michael Wacha took home the MVP after winning all three of his starts in the postseason and posting an ERA under 1.00. Wacha was stingy, surrendering only one run in his three playoff starts. It was a surprising performance, but one the Cardinals truly needed.

The Red Sox somehow manage to beat the Detroit Tigers with Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander on the mound. For the Tigers, it was a truly disappointing campaign as they featured some of the top hitters in baseball in their offense, while Verlander and Scherzer pitched great baseball in the postseason. It should have been the Tigers in the World Series, but the Red Sox had a flare for the dramatic throughout this series.

World Series Dates & Time:

Game 2: Thursday, Oct. 24 @7:30 p.m. ET

Game 6: Wednesday, Oct. 30 @7:30 p.m. ET
Game 7: Thursday, Oct. 31 @7:30 p.m. ET

The World Series in 2013 will be bathed in red as both teams where red, white and blue. Both would love to come charging out of the gates, but it will be interesting to see how the four/five-day layoff will affect either team. For the Red Sox, the rest is important for their bullpen. For the Cardinals, they are getting healthier by the day as Allen Craig will be reinstated into the roster. During the regular season, Craig was the Cardinals' RBI machine. However, you never know what you will get from him since he has not played baseball in more than two months.

The Red Sox swept the Cardinals in 2004. However, that does not look possible in 2013 as the Cardinals' pitching has been solid, mainly Adam Wainwright and Wacha. The Cardinals will be chasing for their 12th World Championship, while the Red Sox are trying to add the seventh to their collection.
