Miami Heat vs. Brooklyn Nets Preseason Schedule: TV Channels Available, Watch Jason Kidd's No. Retired at Barclays

Oct 17, 2013 03:50 PM EDT

The Miami Heat head to Brooklyn where they will face the Nets at the Barclays Center. Though many are wondering about the beef LeBron James might have with the new Nets superstars, the focus of the night will be, at least during the pregram show, Jason Kidd's jersey being retired by the Nets organization. Want to know where you can tune in to watch the action live? Check out the TV schedule with channel and time info.

Retirement Ceremony: 7 p.m. ET

Game Time: 8 p.m. ET

TV Channel: TNT, YES

So for those who have anything against the TNT broadcast, you can enjoy the action in YES. If you do not have YES, then you are stuck with TNT.

After spending seven seasons with the then New Jersey Nets, resurrecting the franchise and helping them make the playoffs every year, Kidd will have his number retired by the organization, despite their move to Brooklyn. There's so much love between the two sides that Kidd is being honored in Brooklyn, despite helping the crosstown rival New York Knicks defeat the Nets last season. He was also hired to coach the Nets in 2013, which proves there were no hard feelings.

After the pregame ceremony, the action is on. The Heat are 3-1 so far in the NBA Preseason, losing to the Washington Wizards on Tuesday. The Nets have also gone 3-1 in the preseason, but there is much to worry about this squad.

We know it is only the preseason and they are probably playing conservatively, but Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce have not done much. In three starts, Pierce has averaged four points, shooting 27 percent from the floor. Garnett is averaging five points in 13 minutes in his first three preseason games as a Net.

Though the starters have struggled, guys like Andray Blatche and Mirza Teletovic have exploded off the bench. They are averaging more than 20 minutes of action per game as Blatche is dropping 14 points per game and Teletovic is adding 12.5 every night. Brook Lopez is holding things down in the paint, averaging a team high, 15 points per game and averaging close to three blocks per game.

Chris Bosh has made some noise in the preseason for the Heat, but it is clear that this production will only last throughout these exhibition games. He dropped 28 points against the Detroit Pistons after scoring 21 in the preseason opener against the Atlanta Hawks. Eventually, LeBron James will take over games as he usually does for the Heat on both sides of the ball.

For now, the Heat will take the floor against the Nets and then get ready to face the team coached by this generation's best point guard.
