It did not take long for Matt Flynn's phone to ring. After getting released by the Oakland Raiders, the quarterback has been waiting for an injury to give him a third chance at being a starting quarterback in the NFL. The first two tries were very unsuccessful and essentially ended before they could start. Now, Flynn could be getting one more shot as the Buffalo Bills are in need of a quarterback.

The Flynn news comes in the wake of a Thad Lewis injury. The Bills quarterback is set to undergo an MRI on his sprained foot, but insists that he will be fine. If Lewis is seriously injured, he would be the third quarterback the Bills have lost this season. Kevin Kolb went down with a serious concussion. Rookie EJ Manuel suffered a knee injury and is expected to miss up to eight weeks recovering. Now, Lewis has hurt his foot. Hello, Flynn.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Bills will bring in Flynn for a workout this week. It is uncertain whether or not this visit was scheduled prior to Lewis' injury or not as some reports say Flynn was already on a flight over to Buffalo before Lewis went down. Before the injury, the Bills had just Lewis and rookie Jeff Tuel on the roster for quarterbacks. They were in need of depth no matter what.

If signed, this would be Flynn's third team in the matter of just over a year. He was originally pegged to be the starting quarterback of the Seattle Seahawks in 2012 before losing the job to then-rookie, Russell Wilson. He sat on the bench the entire season. The Oakland Raiders then signed Flynn in hopes that he would turn the franchise around. However, he lost the job to Terrelle Pryor and was eventually released.

Somehow Flynn continues to get offers from teams despite his lack of success as a starting quarterback. In his last NFL games, the quarterback went 21-of-32 in passing for 227 yards and a touchdown. He also threw an interception and was sacked seven times. After the loss, head coach Dennis Allen simply said Flynn's play was the reason the Raiders did not get the win.

It is clear Doug Marrone does not believe Tuel is ready to be a starter for the team just yet. He told reporters after the game that the quarterback situation would be evaluated this week and the team would decide the necessary moves.
